    To apply for the digital nomad visa, you will need to complete an application form, gather all required documents, and pay the visa fee. You can apply either from Spain or from the Spanish embassy in your country. If you are applying from Spain, make sure you are in regular status (with a valid visa at the time of application).
    You will need to demonstrate that your work can be performed remotely. It is also necessary to prove that you have been working for at least 3 months for the same company and that you now have a contract for a minimum of 1 year. As with the other visa types, you will need to obtain your criminal record certificate, take out private health insurance and prove financial income.
    If you apply from Spain, there is fast-track processing, which means that the visa will be granted in 20 working days. If you apply from the Spanish embassy in your country, it can take up to 1 month.
    Your family will be able to apply for the dependent visa at the same time. Proof of family relationship and sufficient income to support everyone will be required.
    Instead of paying taxes as a resident, with this visa you will pay taxes as if you were a non-resident, which means that in Spain you will pay much less for the income you generate. As a digital nomad visa holder, you can benefit from only paying a fixed tax rate of 15%, instead of 25%, during a maximum of 4 years.
